Time to go.

This will most likely be my last post from Spain.
I am leaving Jonathan's house at 4:00am tomorrow to Barcelona and am flying out from there.
My trip is Barcelona  >  Munich > Philadelphia > Los Angeles I will be in LA for 2 hours to see my girlfriend and then I take a bus back to Phoenix. I arrive in Phoenix at 6:55am and start my first class of the semester at 10:00am. It is going to be a rough couple of days.
This summer has been a real learning and growing experience, it has also be one of, if not the, hardest summer I have ever had.
It has been great to have David here, we have been friends since we were kids and that friendship has only grown over the last couple months here. I am truly thankful for him and everything he has done here.
I haven't counted up everything we have done this year it trust me when I say it has been a lot.
While things have been difficult and busy, I did have am amazing time here, you can't help it, traveling the world is always a good experience and I can't wait to do it again.
I hope to see everyone soon (at least those of you in Phoenix) and catch up on everything that has happened while I have been away.

See you stateside!

I look like an emo kid.

The camp grounds were beautiful.

We had a pretty good turn out this year, about 50 campers.

Done

We are done. Camp is over, David and I worked our rears off and we are ready to sleep. Last night we finished the last of the multi-media work and made DVDs for all the campers and staff. We finished burning over 100 DVDs at 7:15 in the morning and have been ready to crash ever since.
It has been a great summer. David and I pushed ourselves and we are very happy with our work.
We have both learned a lot and have had a lot of fun. However, we are both ready to get back home. I would say "get back home and rest" but unfortunately for me I start school on the 20th, 4 hours after I get back to Phoenix. So I don't think there will be much time for that.

I will try to get some pictures up tomorrow but right now I am pretty dead so here is one of the videos we made:

Camp

Today all the campers arrived. David and I ran the projection and sound systems and everything went smoothly, the videos played back well and everyone was impressed with the quality of all the effects and timers. David and I are very happy with the way this camp is kicking off.

Tomorrow we edit the videos shot today as the campers arrived and will show it tomorrow night. The turnarounds for what we shoot are very short and do not allow room for mistakes. We get one chance for everything. Working in the multi-media department at a quality camp is hard work. You are working when everyone else is, you do everything everyone else does but with a camera, and when everyone else is resting you are working again, editing what was shot all day. The work has to be finished by that night's meeting, and everything has to playback smoothly usually without a chance to test it.

We are also taking photos for the camp but that is a lot more lax seeing as they only have to be finished by the last day.
Here are a few samples.

Day 1

Today is the 1st full day at camp. The camp grounds are nice, there is a lot of green here and all the pine trees make it feel like Flagstaff. All of the guys are in one bunk house with 2 toilets and 2 showers for the lot of us. The showers don't have any way to change the temperature or angle and they are timed so showers are usually short.  The next 3 days will be spent setting up everything and training the staff for when camp starts. David and I will be finishing everything we can before all the kids arrive.

It is going to be a fun yet busy and hard time. I feel like I have been in Spain forever and I am missing a lot of  people back home. We have a lot of work to do and David and I will be working hard to get everything done on time throughout the week. Am trying to figure out my fall schedule while I am here and between classes and looking for a new job things can be a little worrying.
It will all work out in the end but I wish I could know for sure right now, patience was never my strongest virtue.

I should have some pictures from the camp soon.

Getting there

David and I feel like we have been in Spain forever yet we still have a long way to go. It has been a great summer so far and we have had plenty to keep us busy. We are now back in Banyoles with Jonathan and his family. Camp starts in a few days and are trying to prepare as much as we can so we can focus on shooting and editing the daily videos when Joventura actually starts.

I have been working on the intro graphics for the camp. I think this one is about ready.

Me and mornings are not a good mix.

Taking it slow...ish

David and I are currently at a conference a little ways outside of Barcelona. We are helping teach the youth in the mornings and working the afternoons. I have an interview to cut for one of the staff in Banyoles and David will be cutting one after we shoot it tomorrow for the director of YL Barcelona.

We have been able to take some time to rest and see some of the sites in between work. These projects do not have as short of dead lines and therefore we aren't as stressed.

We have a lot to do still and soon as this conference ends we will be spending all of our time getting ready for Joventura the main camp.

I will try to keep you all informed as to what we are doing and post more work.

I have just about finished a few more titles but I will save them for later this week.
